Dress Like A Star: Alexa Chung

Its all about animal print. Get your inner feline out and meow like Alexa Chung did at the 2010 Black Lace Benefit for The Safe Project. Here's how to get the look.

X- Factor Fashion (Rock Night)

A Rock Themed Night.

So Katie and Wagner won’t be rocking into next weeks X-Factor semi-finals so we can officially say “The X-Factor is back on track!”

We loved last nights performances by The Wanted, who might we add, look like future versions of One direction and Justin Bieber with his er… ‘live’ performance of Baby.
Nicole Scherzinger also performed her new single poison but we were too distracted by her cheesy cat suit and ‘burlesque gone cheap’ hair do.

Cheryl sparkled on Saturday nights show with a one sleeved glitzy bronze tone mini dress while Danni blushed in a one shoulder red gown with a short front hemming detail and layered crystal ball drop earrings.

Sunday Night, Cheryl wowed us in a gorgeous gold armour low cut, floor sweeping dress which seemed just a little too tight at the mid section but otherwise breath-taking (excuse the pun) while Danni looked stunning in a black Grecian draped dress which mimicked last nights short front hem detail with a gold metal trim belt.

As the contestants performed two songs each this week, we’ve got double fashion Hits and Miss Selections, yay.

X Fashion Hits & Misses

Mary Byrne

Outfit 1
All we want Mary, is you looking dazzling in that 'Gray and Osbourn' Top and 'Butler & Wilson' silver hoop earrings.

Outfit 2
We loved where Mary was going with the young and free look but make that ‘Gray & Osbourn’ top a little looser and a little longer and she’s there. Another pair of Butler & Wilson silver drop earrings, love them too.

We have to say, we loved Mary’s laid back hair last night, more glam, less nan.

Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho

Outfit 1
“What the hell am I doing here?” Well you said it. Not us! But with a print shirt from ‘Dolphin’, at least he looks smart and gentlemanly while he is there.

Outfit 2
Well we might as well face it, Wagners here while looking dapper in his Austin Reed suit.

Matt Cardle

Outfit 1
Matt, we love rock and roll too but that outfit is more drop and roll. The ASOS blazer just doesn’t work for you, too old for TV.

Outfit 2
Oh how we love you too in whites, so dreamy in the ASOS shirt and pants… (Er... What day is it again?)

Katie Waissel

Outfit 1
Well Katie, we wouldn’t know (nor do we want to know) if your sex is on fire, but we do know that All saints dress isn’t on you, so unflattering in the boob department with the droopy lines. Sexy Marcus Lupfer leggings though.

Outfit 2
You’ve got to hold on to that sparkling floor length Neurotica dress, it’s so you.
Rebecca Ferguson

Outfit 1
Gorgeous in that leopard print body-con Cavalli dress and Louboutins, all that’s missing is a slim gold snake belt, oohh, We think you’ve now found what you’ve been looking for.

Outfit 2
We can definitely get satisfaction from that sequined Gareth Pugh at Harvey Nichols dress. Fitted, mini and black, what else? Oh another tight hairdo, Ouch!

One Direction

Outfit 1
Those may have been the best days of your life but these are some of the best outfits you guys have donned. Going past the summer of 69 and preppy with Amplified clothing t-shirts and Topman hoodies.

Outfit 2
You are so beautiful in black Topman, House of Fraser and Firetrap gear and leather at that!

Cher Lloyd

Outfit 1
Hey hey, you you, we don’t hate your outfit especially that sparkly bow on your Very.co.uk dress. Cute Rose print Dr Martins boots too.

Outfit 2
Another bandana (Yes we did notice!) but we guess it works with the colour mish mash that is the Vinti Andrews Jacket & Arrogant Cat Jeans combo, just don’t walk this way in those Nikes!

Tune in next week for more X-Factor Fashion.

Trends Feature: Aviator Jacket

Make warm trendy with this stellar wide collar Aviator Jacket from George at Asda!

Priced in the shallow pocket range and detailed with buckle cuffs,  you can make your style go a little further.

Make your Lickable Assets Kissable Accessories!

There are assets we own that are just as much a fashion accessory as that new Cloe bag!

But we can't change them daily as you would a Cloe (well not cheaply anyway!). So for that reason, they need to be well taken care of, updated with the latest trends (in colours) and pretty to perfection.

We all have them... LIPS!

Believe it or not, they make the perfect fashion accessory. Whether consciously or unconsciously, lips can accentuate or diminish glamour. Whether you choose plum purple lips with that LBD or sultry red for that leopard print catsuit, how we dress our lips is just as much a fashion choice as what clutch bag you're going to use.
As the festive season approaches, don't just (lip) stick with santa's red as an option, be daring with different tones.

A general tip is that the darker your skin tone, the lighter the lipstick colour.

But in fashion, there are no rules, so try before you buy and get an honest friends verdict.

Normally, I'd give advise on how to dress up (or down) a particular piece of clothing but now I'll give you some ideas on how to dress up your lip colour. After all, It's Christmas!

Shop this look at: Browns

Shop this look at: H&M

Stylist Lip Tip: For baby soft lips (especially when suffering from winter's dry-lip-itous!), coat your lips with sudocrem and vaseline (90% Sudocrem + 10% Vaseline, yes it matters!) at night and wipe off in the morning to reveal gorgeous ready to colour coat lips.

Trends Feature: Ravel velvet platform court shoes

Think red carpet but in velvet, now think Ravel!

These gorgeous velvet platform court shoes are just right for whatever statement you want your outfit to make.

The pretty plum pedestals have sparkle detail to the heel and platform so are just right for the party season.

X- Factor Fashion (Beatles Night)

After a melodic Saturday night of Beatles renditions, We watched Olly Murs perform his new single 'Thinking about me', followed by all the finalists including the previous eliminees performing the charity single, heroes.

So it’s a sad good bye to the awesome Paije, whose x-factor rollacoster ride finally ended last night.

On a Fashion note...
Saturdays show, Dannii Minogue strutted out in a wine coloured Gucci maxi dress with a metallic neck piece, stained glass styled yellow leaf earrings and Giuseppe Zanotti heels while Cheryl Cole decided on a mermaid scale with feather detailing metallic sequined mini dress, er nice!

Sunday Night, Danni wore a multi layered black ruffle maxi dress with white trims from her Project D Range, while Cheryl also donned a maxi but in Grecian style white with cut out crossing and gold sequined detail from BodyAmr.

As for the contestants, we select this weeks fashion Hits and Misses.

X Fashion Hits

Mary Byrne

There was something about Marys outfit which finally did her justice, in all black with a silver leopard print asymmetric top from Ann Harvey that complimented her shape. We loved her multi circled black stone earrings too.

Paije Richardson

Let it be that Paige looked suave in blue velvet Austin Reed and he did! Loving the understated outfit with dark tones and what a performance, amazing.

Pixie Geldolf

Twiggy

Katie Waissel

Channeling a little pixie and a young twiggy, Katies new look has potential, not sure about the voice though! The bordered shift dress from Love Label at Very.co.uk and Topshop shoes was a cute choice to complement the hair.

Rebecca Ferguson

Rebecca definitely believed in yesterday, channelling Heather Small (M-People) in her wide red pants and jacket combo from Vintage Ossie Clarke, her accessories helped to just about pull off the outfit but not the 'sadly' weak performance.

One Direction

Love is all you need when these boys are suited and booted in formal wear. Looking dapper and clean cut in mostly Topman gear , there's nothing that can change our minds.

Cher Lloyd
Imagine Cher Lloyd looking angelic in a pleated white River Island frock belted with black velvet ribbon.

X Fashion Misses

Matt Cardle

As much as Matt did 'Over me' justice, his outfit which comprised of a white Gap vest and Acne pants just washed over us! Simon said "It looks as if you were dragged from the loo onto the stage!"

Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho

The all black was fine but what was with the sailor/ pirate coat from appropriately Costume Studio. A little too costume for us but then the whole performance was like a circus.

Tune in next week for more X-Factor Fashion.

P.S. We're so looking forward to The Wanted, Justin Bieber and Nicole Scherzinger performances next week.
