Trends Feature: Markus Lupfer Dress & Austin Reed Jacket

As the year draws to a close, it feels to me like the end of something special. so wI felt it appropriate to select darling dark pieces to mourn as well as celebrate the end of an eventful and fashion packed year.

Why not slip into this gorgeous navy blue slim fitting dress with full pleated skirt by Markus Lupfer.
With a beautiful blue sequin embellished mid section, you'll be sure to look stylishly sad (or happy).

Trends Feature: Camel coloured paperbag shorts

Wonderful Winter Whites #5

For the last of my WWW theme this week, I present to you these clean cut camel coloured paperbag shorts from Warehouse.

With a fancy six pleat detail, buttoned folds and tie belt, this simple piece will take your legs (and in this weather: opaque tights) to a new level.

Team with a tucked-in black shimmer vest, gold tailored jacket and black thigh high boots for a very Merry Christmas party.

Fashion is not just for Christmas, it's for life!

So it's Christmas eve and the the shops are packed, the supermarkets are in disarray and the turkey is sold out (well in some places).
But as usual you may have left an important feature on the back burner, your Christmas day outfit (yes hang your head in shame!).
Now that your fashion reminder has arrived, dust off those dresses, shake those sequins and polish those pumps.

If you can't find an outfit to revamp and recycle and you don't have any energy left from preparing tomorrows party food, no worries, do like Tyra and make the jumpsuit your second skin (but in a more flattering than flattening way!). An added belt and laced pumps and you're good to go.

My best tips for the realistic fashionista: Wear loose and breathable clothing like a maxi dress to hide your lovely turkey lumps. There's no point looking good while you're starving but there's also no point looking dashing and your stomach's smashing through your bustier!

For all it's worth, enjoy the festive season, the food as well as the fashion. Let loose and let live.

**Happy Christmas**

Give a gift that leaves a scent!

I am just too excited about the festive week and making it a fashion, erm sorry... I mean Family affair!

It's so appropriate that this week is all about Wonderful Winter Whites because we all know how beautiful the snow looks when it's just freshly fallen, but even more so from inside a nice warm house!

Even though I like to give you tips on how to look trendy in the Christmas season, I also like to think of what I'm going to give (and receive) whilst looking good!

So if you too are looking for the kind of gift you give without keeping the receipts whilst leaving a grateful scent, here are some ideas of things they can wear but won't give you trouble of what size to get.

For Her:

J-LO LA Glow EDT 30ML, £8.99

I've always been a fan of glow from the beginning, so adding a hint of excitement of a night out in Los Angeles is good for any girl. A magical romantic scent, trust me any lady will thank you.

Glow on!

For Him:

Paco Rabanne 1 Million EDT 50ML, £32.99

The expression of every man's fantasies. An object of desire as a gold ingot shape with an addictive fresh spicy leather fragrance (I can definitely vouch for that!).

These gifts are so trendy, they'll think they were 'scent' from heaven. Just don't forget to actually give them away!

AAMAA Get That Outfit!

With a vast amount a fashion choice available, the world is definitely a stylists oyster! So when we talk about designers, it's because they stand out, just like the creations of AAMAA Couture.

Created in 2009 by fashion designer Toyosi Mobereola, the label creates eccentric, high-end and bold pieces that fuse African culture with western influence. (We know what you're thinking, not another one! But wait...)

We at Twynkle Loves are so in love with the quality and execution of the 'A-C' pieces, we can't get enough of them especially the Red kimono style jacket, which Toyosi says 'took hours of work'. Well as beautiful as it is, we're not surprised.

The AAMAA Couture line comes as a made-to-order collection as well as the more affordable, diffusion ready- to- wear line. Either way, each piece is worth it weight and is highly recommended.

Our favorites pieces mostly stem from the designers current collection of 'Leathers, Feathers and Lace', where alot of African cotton wax prints, directly printed and sourced in Ghana and Nigeria, are creatively mixed and sewn with leather, coloured mesh and other glorious materials.

Having met the curiously shy designer, Toyosi, it is fair to say that this new design house bases itself on quality and exclusivity as well as her need to promote the exciting and innovative prints Africa has to offer.

Trends Feature: MCQ black blazer

Beautiful Blacks #2

Todays feature is definitely a beautiful black, coming in the form of this beautifully tailored black blazer from MCQ.

Displaying the exquisite tailoring of Alexander McQueen, this short blazer has cropped sleeves and a staple neon pink safety pin feature.

Nipped in at the waist, you can make this look go far. Wear with cropped black trousers and abstract coloured pumps.

A Royal Promotion: William & Kate

Check out the new royal promotional engagement pictures of Kate Middleton and Prince William.

The first picture show the new royals in their formal wear while the second shows the loved up couple in romantic casual, with Kate choosing to wear high-street brands for both pics.

The engagement photographs taken by Mario Testino, saw Kate Middleton chose a white knee-length belted dress with a draped collar and a curving petal skirt, by Reiss costing around £170 and a white embroidered "scallop-edge" blouse from Whistles which costs £95, rather than designer wear.

Prince William played it safe with a navy blue suit and tie by Turnbull and Asser, the Royal shirtmakers, and a brown jumper by the Italian fashion house Brunello Cucinelli.

With the wedding date set for Friday April 29th 2011 at Westminster Abbey, We're sure there will be much more pics to mull over before hand, as for now enjoy these.

X- Factor Fashion - And The Winner is...

Yayy for Matt!

We couldn't have had a more deserving x-factor winner, a consistent performer week on week and a regular on our fashion hit lists.

The Performances

We've now come to the end of the x-factor journey (seems like only yesterday it begun), but the show definitely didn't disappoint on its last weekend. With various performances from the finalists and ex-auditionees (the bad ones!) and guest apperances from the likes of Chistina Aguilera, Take That and Will-I-Am, but by far our performance of all was Rihanna in her multicoloured carribean inspired bustier and hi-pants combo singing "What's my name?"

Another awesome moment was Matt canoodling with Rihanna (It may have been the other way round actually) on their performance of Unfaithful, we felt a bit shy too.

The Judges

On Saturday, Cheryl Cole wore a white Roberto Cavalli dress with mid-section crystallized detail, and swept back hair, which honestly did her no favours, Cartier jewellery and Brian Atwood heels. Dannii Minogue, on the other hand, wore a simple ruffle layered J'Aton Couturem Pomellato gown but went with an elegant up-do with Annoushka jewellery and Prada heels.

Sunday night, we think both women were channeling the wet look as Cheryl wore a red angles cut J Mendal dress with Brian Atwood heels and De Grisogono jewellery, whilst Dannii Minogue wore a pearl white Jenny Packham adhorned dress.

Notice how the womens colour palettes are swapped on each day!

We have to make mention of Dermot O’learys satin lined suit on, which gave him abit of an edge. That’s how to make token tuxedos!

This is the last X Factor 2010 Fashion Hit & Miss list and with numerous performances, we had lashings of choice.

X Fashion Hits & Misses

Matt Cardle

Outfit 1

We wished we were there with you too in your all Topman getup, a true gentleman.

Outfit 2

We’re very sure that if Matts Ben Sherman suit and Burton shirt could talk, they would say how happy they were to be soo close to Rihanna, unfaithful or not.

First Single Performance

Matt stayed official whilst performing his new single 'when we collide'.

Rebecca Ferguson

Outfit 1

Rebecca definitely looked like a star in that Luisa Beccaria gown and Jimmy Choo shoes, which you couldn’t see under all those cascading ruffles. The David Morris earrings surely brought a bright spark to a very neutral tone.

Outfit 2
You are beautiful no matter what they say because a Richard Sorger dress and Delphine Charlotte Parmentier earrings can’t bring you down, as we’re sure that’s what Christina Aguilera was really singing with Rebecca.

First Single Performance

Rebecca dressed in flaming sequins to be a ‘Distant dreamer’.

One Direction

Outfit 1

Simon told the boys to sack the stylist on this one, so they dressed themselves and went with their trusted topman hoodies and trousers. After all, ‘this is your song’!

Outfit 2
Looking like ‘the one’, the boys donned ASOS suits to sing with Robbie Williams, one of our favourites of the night!

Cher Lloyd

Outfit 1
Cher definitely got her freak on with those ‘lips’ Fam Ervoll baggy trousers and Rachel Fray jacket. Teaming loud prints with simple pieces goes a long way as Cher did with the red H&M top.

Outfit 2

We got a feeling that Cher enjoyed her Will- I-am duet but even more so, rocking that cute Jones & Jones layered pleated skirt.
With the H&M jacket and George at Asda shirt and bow tie, Chers outfit shows us where the love is. But for extreme romance, she should have teamed it with sandals with ankle strapes rather than the Adidas trainers.

Til next year!
