X Factor 2011 (Week 4)- The Fashion

Firstly, how hilarious was Dermot's dance routine entry on Saturday night, what a start to the weekends Halloween Fright Night theme. Sophie definitely got a fright after being voted off on Sunday after a sing off with Mischa B, Shocker!

With all the controversy, Kelly didn't show up to judge but Temp Alexandra Burke definitely held her own in the style stakes wearing a black and white crystallized number, she looked hot in those black ankle boots. I really think Tulisa took the fright night theme too literal with that ghastly black leather cat suit and ears get-up, but I have to say her make up was flawless

Sunday night saw Alexandra go multi green in a fitted shift dress while Tulisa took a risk in a printed maxi dress. Her looked channeled a curtain obsessed grandma but hey we can't get it right all the time.

Now onto the Contestants and the Fashion...

With new member Ashford, The Risk are really taking risks but not so much with their outfits. Black was the choice of the night, with leather jackets, t-shirts and jeans, the guys still looked cute and effortless as usual.

Charlie: Leather jacket: All Saints, T-shirt: Unconditional, Trousers: Topman, Shoes: Schuh.
Ashford: Coat: River Island, T-shirt: Unconditional, Trousers: Unconditional, Shoes: Schuh.
Derry: Jacket: Asos, White T-shirt: Unconditional, Trousers: Topman, Shoes: River Island.
Andy: Jacket: All Saints, T-shirt: Unconditional, Trousers: Topman, Shoes: River Island.
All jewellery: Freedom @ Topman.

With that old devil called love, Jonny stood out in his shiny tuxedo and skinny tie. Simple really suits this diva!

Suit: Review One
Shirt: Primark
Shoes: M&S

Sophies performance didn't really go bang bang for me, great vocals, an amazing studded Alexander McQueen Style dress with sheer details, great avant-garde styled hair but a bit drab.

Dress: Falguni Shane and Peacock
Shoes: TKMaxx
Earrings: Freedom @ Topshop

I was very superstitious of Marcus' eye make up, cane and low vest top but the vocals and emerald waistcoat saved him.

Green waist coat: Custom made
Vest: American Apparel
Trousers: Unconditional
Shoes: Zara
Jewellery: Freedom @ Topshop

Disregarding the totally unnecessary horn hair, Mischa's red layered hooded ensemble screamed a wanted tainted love. The platforms were to die for.

Hood: Skin Graft
Tutu: Custom
Shoes: Aldo
Necklace/earrings: Maria Francesca @ Pepe

In a haunting bride-of-Chuckie-inspired cream embroidered tiered maxi dress and crimped red locks, I was definitely watching Janet but I wasn't keen on the listening part.

Dress and jewellery: vintage

Frankie shouldn't stay, he should go now! Looking scruffy in a red blazer, black skinnies and white shirt (that doesn't sound like a scruffy combo, maybe it was the hair!) Frankie fails to impress yet again, vocally and stylishly.

White shirt: Sons of Heroes
Red velvet jacket: Topman
Jeans: Topman
Studded shoes: Ragged Priest

Kittys two tone hair was questionable but grew on me but how AMAZING was that bedazzled corset, I loved it and will so be having sweet dreams about it.

Corset: The Blonds
Fingerless gloves: Custom-made
Leather leggings: ASOS
Shoes: Topshop
Jewellery : Freedom @ Topshop

Their make up may have looked like they were extra-terrestrials but they're outfits were finally down to earth. Sporting black and metallic dresses. The ladies of newly named Little Mix looked cute in ra ra skirts and belted pieces.

Perrie: Lace Top: Madame Rage, Skirt: Jones by Jones, Shoes: Beyond Retro.
Jesy: Top: New Look, Skirt: Beyond Retro, Belt: New Look, Tights: Topshop, Boots: Doc Martin, Necklace: Dolly Dinky Jewellery, Rings: Maggie Angus and Matalan, Cuff: Freedom @ Topshop.
Leigh-Ann: Dress: Jones by Jones, Bandeau: American Apparel, Boots: Beyond Retro, Hand piece: Evol Heist.
Jade: Skirt: Jones by Jones, Top: River Island, Belt: Rokit, Boots: Beyond Retro, Earrings: Dolly Dinky.

Craig looked simply cool in his military style jacket. He may have been singing fire but he wasn't showing the heat!

Jacket: ASOS (customised)
Trousers: Ben Sherman
Shoes: New Look (customised).

Fashion Design Competition With 'Jones and Jones' in Topshop

Hey my Stylistas,

I recently blogged about Fashionista Central, the social network to join. They have now teamed up with fashion brand Jones and Jones to offer aspiring womenswear designers the chance to have their design sold as part of the Jones and Jones concession at Topshop, Oxford Street.

If you want to know what aesthetics Jones and Jones are going for, think quirky, unique and feminine, whilst displaying individuality and personal style.

The deadline for entries is Wednesday 2nd November 2011, so get inspired and quick!
And if you need more motivation than your winning design appearing in Topshop's flagship store, the winner will also receive a cash prize of £150!

Entry is open to any University of the Arts London student. For the full design brief and details on how to enter, check out the Fashionista Central homepage at: www.fashionistacentral.com

Good Luck, TL. Xx
