November Inspirations: In The Black Of Night

I had a few shoots this month but one in particular inspired my mood. I was loving the feeling of what black can do, the feeling of mystery, seduction and moodiness. I put together the 'In The Black of Night' board wondering what each images intentions were but I intend to share the results of my shoot with you very soon.

X Factor 2011 (Week 8)- The Fashion

So this Saturday, it was all about Guilty pleasures and Heroes, 5 acts, 2 songs each, Dermot's boxing dance entry and Janet's exit from the competition.

Tulisa smashed it in a black and gold tutu mini dress. Kelly looked sweet and elegant in a one shouldered blue front and green back dress with a white embroidered shoulder piece, it kind of reminded me of Tulisa's dress last Saturday.

Sunday evening, Kelly donned a pink tinted Grecian style flowy one shoulder dress with gorgeous purple pumps. Tulisa rocked a gold halter neck dress with cut-out shoulders, very female bossy!

Olly Murs performance with the Muppet's has to be one o the best for the series, looking dapper and surrounded by sparkle and Ms Piggy! How amazing was Jessie J's performance... She looked stunning in black lace top burgundy dress.

Now on to The Contestants and The Fashion...

Look 1

Probably influenced by their mentor, the Little Mix ladies seemed to represent valentines with tutus, underskirts, over sized bows, all in red, pink white and polka dots.
Speaking of baby, they looked like a throwback to 50's housewives, all they needed were aprons and cupcakes.

Toned down (for once) in only white vests, blue jeans and gold jewellery, the Little Mix ladies showed they were beautiful with minimal effort.

Look 1

In a cute black glistening velvet baby doll dress and those Doc Martins, Janet looked Um Bop (aka Good) but forgetting her lyrics was just fatal.

Dress: TOPSHOP
Boots: Dr Martens

Look 2

Janet looked stunning in a tie dye maxi shift dress with a bejewelled feather neck piece. Take me to the place I love... great style!

Dress: Gestuz
Necklace: Akong London

Look 1

Girls just wanna have fun... Channelling Missy Elliott in letters print leggings, Adidas cut out crop jacket, red platform sneakers and curly mop hair, Mischa B looked positively hip to the hop. I absolutely loved the gold block cuff.

Jacket: Jeremy Scott for Adidas
Leggings: Monkl
Body: Loud by Fashskin
Tappin shoes: K T Z

Look 2

In a sci-fi inspired black sheer panelling body-con mini dress and crystals statement necklace, Mischa B killed it softly even with the eye make-up.

Dress: Philip Armstrong
Shoes: Dune
Necklace: Martine Wester
Ring: Martine Wester

Look 1

Marcus was the man... the cool man in his Adidas hi-tops sneakers, black jeans, a loose white tee and leather blazer. Love it!

Jacket: Unconditional
Jeans: TOPMAN
Trainers: Adidas

Look 2

Lately Marcus has been hitting all the right notes, vocally and style-wise. Decked out in a black tux, white shirt and untied bow tie, the Liverpudlian didn't want this time to mean good bye.

Blazer & trousers: The Kooples

Look 1

I love Amelia Lily's pink blonde hair curled in a loose bun, it worked well with the grey lace sleeveless dress she wore. All great except the bottom of the dress looked as though it had been through a shredder.

Dress: Rag & Bow Vintage
Shoes: Topshop
Belt: New look
Rings: Obscure Couture

Look 2

I loved Amelia's star print Jacket but from the waist down it was a shambles. With those unflattering pink wet-look jeans, there won't always be next time singing since you've been gone.

In The Starlight: Estelle Puleston

Estelle Puleston, Director of Esty Lingerie set up her online luxury lingerie boutique in 2008 specialising in independent designers, offering Corsets, baby dolls, basques, bustiers, bra sets, knickers, hosiery, garters and more. With this 'In The Spotlight' feature, the director and designer shares her love of Tapas, bubble baths and cat hats!

1. Favourite piece from your current collection.

The white lace babydoll with yellow trim and pearl beads- I love the pattern on the lace and I think it's just the right level of sheer to look sexy without being tacky!

2. Favourite mid-day snack.

I don't think I could choose just one thing. I love Spanish food though so maybe some sort of tapas or bread with cheese and 'jamon'.

3. Favourite winter accessory.

Hats! I have loads, I especially love ones with ears - teddy ears, cat ears...

4. Favourite piece of advice you've been given.

That I could do whatever I wanted to do - it's why I thought to set up Esty Lingerie in the first place!

5. Favourite 3 winter colours.

Black because it's a classic and warm to wear, plus burgundy and white both make me think of Christmas.

6. Favourite Trend for S/S 2012.

1920s revival - I saw a beautiful flapper-style dress by Réyes that I'm desperate to get hold of!

7. Favourite way to stylishly unwind after a long day.

A long, hot bath full of bubbles!

Hey guys,

Check out this gorgeous corset that was custom-made for one of my styling projects.
Made exclusively by Estelle Puleston of Esty Lingerie, the corset was specified to fit a brief but not only was the piece beautiful and made to such high standards, Estelle managed to make the finished piece in a matter of days... Love it!

I'm so excited to see it in print and don't worry, when the finished editorial is ready, you'll be the first to see the amazing pieces all together. For more on Esty Lingerie, Visit: http://www.estylingerie.com/ and for more on Estelle, read her favorite things in her 'In The Starlight' feature HERE.

X Factor 2011 (Week 7)- The Fashion

This weekend, it was movie night (but not for me... I wish!) and then there were five!. It's a shambles that Craig was cut from the competition but I'll still love him tomorrow.

Saturday night, Tulisa looked great in a black mini dress while Kelly rocked a maxi with an Aztec print top and white thigh high mid slit skirt.

Sunday night, Tulisa got it right again in a green lace dress while Kelly took a risk (which paid off) in a sci-fi metallic blue two-tone dress with a revealing sheer front.

Now onto The Contestants and The Fashion...

The final six contestants were all dressed in hues of blue and were lucky enough to perform with music veteran Bryan Adams. I must say, Mischa B looked great with a fringed cut bob and Versace/Vintage style print crop jacket.

Craig had a license to look suave, svelte and supreme in a black suit, White shirt and skinny black tie.

Jacket & tie: Next
Shirt: George by Duffer @ Debenhams
Trousers: French Connection
Shoes: Oliver Sweeney

OMG... the night was so Janet's night. That gorgeous print maxi dress, bejewelled wrists, one of my favourite songs from six-pence-non-the-richer and luscious red locks, she definitely kissed me with style this week.

Dress: River Island
Shoes & Jewellery: TOPSHOP

Amelia Liliy really did think about her outfit with that cute diamante bustier tutu dress. Punking it up with a studded black leather jacket, leopard print ankle boots and pink hair, she really sang with freedom.

Dress: Forever Unique
Black leather jacket: Obscure Couture
Shoes: River Island

In a low cut white studded floor sweeping dress with feathered shoulders, side swept hair with curls and natural toned make-up, Mischa B looked stunning, you have nothing if you don't have style.

White body: Aqua
Skirt: Custom made
Corset: House of Harlot
Shoes: TOPSHOP

What's it gonna be?... Amazing is what the Little Mix girls were, vocally and stylishly. Decked in monochrome ensembles, the ladies left the bubblegum pop mash ups behind and looked trendy, edgy and fresh with peplum skirts, blazers and bow ties, white shirts and braces, sequin leggings and knee high stockings. Don't let go of the look ladies.

Perrie; Shirt: River Island, Leggings: Dorothy Perkins, Shoes: Jeremy Scott @ Adidas. Jewellery: Dolly Dinky, Braces: Claires Accessories.
