Right Now I'm Loving: Purple Ferdinand - Beautiful Anomaly

One girl and her Ukulele. Namely a 23 year old Vanessa also known as Purple Ferdinand.

With a sound so shy-bound, soothing and soft coming from a multiple pierced and tattoo clad lady, this is definitely is a beautiful anomaly. Her style is as individual as her sound and I love the accessory picks.

The British Soap Awards 2012: The Fashion

Take a look at the fashion of the ladies on the red carpet of the British Soap Awards last night.

Rita Simmons of Eastenders in a black frock with lace detail
The lace detail in the frock just isn't working for me and neither is the shoulder tat.

Georgia May Foote
Georgia looks stunning in a deep purple velvet one-shouldered dress.

Shona McGarty looked beautiful in all black from the neck down. I don't know if that's
a hair bun or a hat on her head but it does not favours for her lighter hair colour.

Charlie Brooks from Eastenders went for a red prom dress which was cute but the chunky black shoes work for completely different outfit.

Hollyoaks' Gemma Merna went for a peplum sky blue sequined dress. But with the hair, shoulder pads and bust line, Gemma looks aged.

Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe almost looked too simple in this turquoise Herve Leger dress until it keeps going, maximum maxi!

Eastenders star Hetti Bywater's black dress dazzled but I honestly don't feel she filled it out.

Corrie's Katherine Kelly was pastel perfect.

Eastenders Jacqueline Jossa sparkled in gold sequins

Samia Smith didn't wow me, a bit blah really.

Corrie's Brooke Vincent looked sultry and sexy in bright purple, even with her baby face.

Michelle Keegan won Sexiest Female and wowed in a floor-length one-shouldered midnight blue gown

Hollyoaks star Hollie-Jay Bowes in a cut-out mesh dress with clashing hair.
This is wrong on so many levels and she looks like she can't even be bothered.

Nicola Stapleton's cobalt blue dress was stunning but the hair...

Hollyoaks star Claire Cooper in floor length silver sequins showed simple beauty.

Hollyoaks' Lucy Dixon went for an emerald green and gold dress to compliment her red hair. Amazing results.

Danielle Harold went for a halter-neck mini and apparently too much tan on the legs.

Spice Girls Mel C and Emma Bunton went for the monochrome match. A bit boring but OMG I want Emma's shoes!

Jessie Wallace went for short sparkly silver dress. What's with these ladies and too much tan on the legs?

Debbie Rush of Corrie looked fire hot in a red maxi gown with thigh split. Hor gorgeous are her platform shoes and gold clutch.

Preeya Kalidas almost had a wardrobe malfunction in her pillarbox red gown
At first glance, this look was aiming to be one of my faves but then I looked again and wondered, what on earth is going on in the boob department. Firstly the cups look abit overworked and her pose isn't loosening the pressure.

Denise Van Outen in a plain black blazer and shorts.... Really, you needn't have bothered making such a HUGE effort!

Jennie McAlpine looked gorgeous in a white ruched dress, not sure about the shoes though, chunks-galore.

Style Faux Pas: Nicki Minaj

I don't know if this is actually a faux pas considering this is Nicki Minaj but even for her, this look just cannot be pulled off. I'm getting Japanese/neon club/Camden night scene vibes from this look but either way it doesn't work for me.

Trends: The Dress Coat

L-R: Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Rachel Zoe, Blaze Lively,  Kate Beckinsale and Rosie Huntington-Whitely
With this quintessential British weather, it is always better to be prepared than caught unaware. So just as the stars know the value, there's never been a better time to invest in a dress-coat. A dress coat is an essential 'doubles-up' wardrobe investment. It's a coat that has the aesthetics of a dress but benefits of a coat. They will usually have cinched waists, a possible waist belt, flair out from the waist, ruffles and a hidden zip.

I personally have 4 dress coats and I find them perfect for those I'm-just-popping-by-so-won't-take-off-my-coat moments, which happens a lot. Dress-Coats can be Macs, trench's or a designer piece as well as other designs. I've started the search for your magic piece and just know it'll give you amazing price per wear through many seasons and with no end to this downpour in sight, I'd say it's a worthy addition.

Pinko Admiral Beige Coat - £395 - Zalando
This Dress is even perfect for spring/summer nights.

Dries Van Noten Women's Renee Coat - £480 - LN-CC.COM
This is perfect for formal occasions but will still take you right into the after work events.

Burberry Prorsum Printed cotton-twill trench coat - £2195 - Net-A-Porter
How gorgeous is this tribal-influenced piece. Perfect for making a statement at functions or events.

In The Starlight: Anna-Paola of Swimwear Label Paolita

This week, I had the privilege of interviewing swimwear designer Anna-Paola of Paolita. She shared her loves, wishes, celeb fans and other favourites with me as well as some exclusive Paolita news. Having met the Paolita team, scanned the boutique and worked with their pieces, I can assure you Paolita is a name you need in your holiday book.

1. Your favourite piece from the current Paolita Collection?

The 'Mandalay' is my absolute favourite design in both colours it comes in.  I think that the detailing in this bikini makes it very special. The frills on the bottom smooth out any bumps and the top has push up padding which gives AMAZING cleavage!

2. Your favourite inspiration when designing Paolita pieces?
I get very inspired by travel and and folkloric crafts of different cultures.

3. Your favourite way to relax after a hectic day?

I love taking a nice hot bath.  It is somewhere where nobody can call or reach me and where I actually can't bring any work into the bath-tub... unless its a bikini I guess lol

4. Your favourite experience since starting Paolita?
I established the company along with my business partner, Joseph in May 2010! Our birthday is actually coming up!  My favourite experience is when Vogue got in touch with me to do an exclusive interview and photo shoot! It was extremely flattering.  An other favourite was when Rihanna's stylist came round and chose some pieces for her, one of them being the Belladonna.

5. Your favourite celebrity you would love to see in Paolita?

I would love to see Shakira in one of my pieces.  I think she is one of the sexiest women in the world and would definitely represent the spirit of Paolita well!

6. Your Favourite trends for the new season and how will you be incorporating them into Paolita's next collection?

I like to always keep what I will be doing in the next collection a secret until it's ready.  However you can expect a lot of bright colours, more shapes and we will be introducing large cup sizes for the first time!

7. Favourite piece of EXCLUSIVE news for Paolita fans/wearers?

We just opened our own boutique in Marble Arch, London!  It is at 18 New Quebec Street, W1H 7RX, where the whole collection is available and unless I am on a business trip, I always look to fit my clients into the swimwear that will flatter their figure.  Also it is a great way of getting feedback on my designs in order to make them better the following seasons.  I sometimes organise workshops or fun events for women.  We always post about these on our facebook page: www.facebook.com/paolitabeach .

When Celebrity Couples Match Their Clothes

I can't say that I'd feel comfortable walking in public wearing matchy-matchy outfits with my other half (remember the Beckhams in leather!)  but I can definitely say that I'm not adverse to a bit of colour co-ordination. With pictures of a now public Kimye (that's Kim Kardashian and Kanye West) all over the press, my attention was drawn to the fashion, as usual. Now to me, couples who dress in similar colours, prints or styles either have a deeper connection that syncs their fashion choices through the psyche or they're just so vain they actually take time to plan it.

It's not a bad choice to be coordinated, after all style compliments style but I'd rather it be kept to a minimum, plaid and tartan that excludes you, sorry. Here I take a look at the couples who in some way chose to display their matching styles in their own individual-ish ways. Like they say: The couple to styles together...

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (Kimye) seem to have a thing for monochrome, they even take turns in a grey jumper while the other wears complete black then both donning black and white numbers. Now Kim and Kanye are individually two of the vainest people in the media, so I can totally see them planning their outfit co-ordinations weeks in advance, the good news is it works. Whether or not the relationship does is a completely different post.

Kate and Wills seem natural to their ensemble choices approach, so we don't always catch them matching. The few times we do, it's in the most subtle, complimentary way possible, blue being a popular colour of choice for them. On the casual occasions, their choice of white shirts and varying shades of purple jumpers is as far as they will go.

When it comes to matching couples, no one does it better than the Beckhams. With years of practice (and faux pas'), Victoria and David do it like no other. From the matching leather get up in the early years, the fashion lovers have come a long way, now usually only choosing to compliment each other with their colour choices.

Lala and Carmelo Anthony (Larmelo) have a trick, he wears the hints, she wears the highlights. Check out how in a classy way, the baller couple compliment each other by choosing one point to focus on. Whether it's prints, neutrals, reds or mustard, they get it right each time, slam dunk I say.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt or Brangelina, don't deviate from what works for them, she wears a classic dress and he wears a suave suit so the only thing these two will match is colour. I'm loving their navy and black combos.

They might no longer be a couple but when Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were together, they were really were together. Seen here in brown, Ashton compliments Demi's brown dress with a brown shirt and and white suit. Although Ashton efforts is sweet, he looks more like he's paying homage to his former show 'That 70's Show'.

Colin Firth and his wife knows the effects of monochrome. By showing white in the lines and train panels of her black dress, Colin Firth's wife compliments his simple tux and shirt perfectly.

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman get this look so right. Drew's tux top compliments Wills jacket to a T, with almost a Mr and Mrs version going on display. Drew nicely lady's it up more with a floral maxi skirt. Although Will didn't sport any floral on his wears, maybe that's why they chose to pose in front of the rose wall, clever!

Although this picture was taken in 2008, Mariah Carey and Nick Canon still compliment each other now even down to their twin babies. Here the couple chose to do a Mr and Mrs version of their winter ready snow puffa jackets, then both opting for black tops and pants but choosing different red accessories to 'spice' it up a bit. Mariah went for the snow boots while Nick went for the hat, don't think it made them that much different if you ask me.

Mick Jagger and L'wren Scott might be a long way from matching ages but they got this look just right. With Mick in a simple coral shirt and black wax jacket, L'wen compliments him beautifully in a rose gold glitter dress.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth take a more casual approach to matching. Check out their loose whites, even the dog got in on it, how cute!

Prateik Babbar and Amy Johnson look gorgeous in a sea of complimentary blue. She dons a full blue jumpsuit while he dons a blue velvet blazer. She dons the black belt while he dons the black trousers. Team work!

For Twi-hard fans, this is a match made in heaven, let alone match made in style. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart go classic and elegant, thankfully only matching in the colour black (Imagine him in embellishments!). The sheer elements at the bottom of her dress rework the grey elements of his shirt.

Hollywood's hot couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively actually don't match at all but they still compliment each other very well. Whites and grey are related so they go very well together, like the people wearing them.

When it comes to height, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes don't match at all but they're truly in sync when it comes to colour and even shades co-ordination.
