Fashion News: Another Award For Adele

Adele.will soon be replacing her handful of grammys for a different kind of trophy, the type that makes a coo sound. The 24 year old British star is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Simon Konecki, 36, who she has been dating since last year. She made the announcement today on her website, saying

“Im delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”

Given Adele's public admission of writing songs from relationship heartbreak and personal situations, I shall be expecting nothing short of nursery rhymes on her next album , which I've aptly named, 'Adele, 9months'.

I Really Really Really Wanna Zig-A-Zig-Ah

Only just last week (at a photoshoot), I was doing my best zig-a-zig-ah whilst bopping along to the Spice girls. So it's great news that all 5 members, all be it their adult versions, got together yesterday for the press release of a new musical based around all of their music called "Viva Forever", which of course the ladies won't star in themselves (they just collect royalties, as you do!).

If that stairwell looks familiar, it's because this picture was taken at the St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel, where a younger Mel B, Mel C, Emma, Geri and Victoria filmed the video for their first hit 'Wannabe'.

Good to see much hasn't changed... Victoria!

The Duchess of Cambridge has apparently spent £35,000 on her royal wardrobe funded by Prince Charles' Duchy of Cornwall estate– and that figure is just for this year so far.

Well, what do you expect when she's partial to bespoke, high-end Alexander McQueen creations, even if she still loves her high street brands like Zara, Whistles and Reiss. Styling isn't easy and it sure isn't cheap!

Fashion at Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend - June 2012

Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend seemed like a blast from my warm abode but for those performing, I'm sure the buzz and excitement of the event warmed their spirits. Fashion wise, Denim cut-offs seemed a popular choice on stage as well as off, whilst hi-top sneakers reigned popular with the ladies and the men. The fashion could have been more dressy but I guess the stars wanted a more casual feel to the event.

Style Faux Pas: Amber Rose, Brooke, Cheryl, Diane, Serena et al

Another week, another host of poor style choices and fashion mishaps. We just look on in shock!

Amber Rose, I like Amber from the high-waist up but after that I can't really sympathise. The tacky Britney-esque skirt, the thigh fattening tights and the shoes... jeepers creepers!

Fashion News: High Heels for Kids!

Michael Kors has launched a range of kids heeled shoes on Zappos.com starting from Sizes 1, which would cater to around 5 year olds and upwards. I can't begin to suggest how ridiculous I think this is considering what heels are meant to stand for. I think the idea was best described by a consumer who called them "unhealthy footwear for growing bones".

I had the utmost respect for Michael Kors before this and I'll still be a fan of his grown up ranges but I can't be in support of 'aging' young children. Kids should be kids, they shouldn't need heels to elongate their legs, make them look sophisticated, add sex appeal, give them an attractive arch or anything else a heel does, especially given that “Any heel above 2cm increases the risk of twisting an ankle. Wearing them can cause strains in the back which is a potential problem for their growth and development.” said podiatrist Gregor McCoshim.  

The Micheal Kors Kids range might not have 5 inch heels but that didn't stop high street store New Look in 2010 from selling a range of high heels starting at size one with 3.5 inch heels.

I know some adults that struggle to walk in heels, let alone children. It's begun but where will it end?

Gossip Girl starlet Blake Lively has been named as the new face of Gucci's newest women's fragrance, Gucci Premiere, which will be in stores next month. Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini said of the new fragrance “I was inspired by timeless Hollywood glamour and the iconic leading ladies of Hollywood's golden era. Blake's unique style and charisma brings that allure to life in a very contemporary way,".

With that, all I have to say is... "XOXO, Gossip Girl"... I couldn't resist! 

Today I'm Wearing: Layers & Leather

Yesterday, I was styling an editorial and when I do those jobs, I like to wear clothes I can run about in, move comfortably and work long hours in whilst still looking simple and stylish. I loved the simple front faux-leather panel on my black shift dress as soon as I saw it and the polka dot tie top was a last minute (the day before) add on.

I haven't worn knee-high socks since secondary school (high school for you USA Folks) but I didn't want to wear tights or do bare legs so it was the perfect compromise. My Metallic Contrast Over The Knee pair were from ASOS. My beige blazer was more of a warming device should the weather have changed (This is England) but luckily it was a lovely day all day.

Yesterday was a great day. Not only was the sun shining but I got to work with another amazing creative team to shoot a magazine editorial. You know me well enough to know that with a shoot comes 'behind the scenes' pics, so enjoy.

I can't remember the last time I rode a bicycle but I remember loving it when I did.When you ride a bike on a good day, the feeling is amazing, not only is it easy transport and a wonderful workout without trying too hard but it gives you the feeling of freedom, riding with the wind in your hair (so cliche but true) and those uninterrupted moments to clear your head. 

So we know the goodness of riding a bike but these stars know the importance of looking good whilst riding one. The most desired bike riding gear are the shorts with other like Kelly Brooke and Pink opting for skin tight denim, avoiding bike chain incidents. Riding stylish is not a thing to be taken lightly.

Alexa Chung rides it out with denim cut offs and suede booties.

Andrew Garfield looks the part but Emma Stone's dress lets her down at the world premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man in Tokyo. The brown satin does her figure no favours nor does it flatter her and the ruched puff ball at the bottom just looks at mess, at least her shoes pass!

Britney has never been a style magnet to me but this just takes the biscuit. Uggs with cut-offs and the worst top ever... need I say more?

The collection, inspired by Kate's travels and exploring vintage markets and shops, is an exclusive for JewelMint, the jewellery line Bosworth started with her stylist and friend, Cher Coulter.

My Outfit Edit: Leopard & Lace

Today's outfit edit is a mixture of regal and risky. The leopard print with lace is an unlikely mix but not an unwelcomed one. The black mesh t-shirt is a neutral base for the clash, while the orange leather knot clutch highlights it's quirkiness.

June Inspirations: Golden Sophistication

June as we know it, is the month of the jubilation and celebration of the Queen's 60 years in reigning. It also for me summons the sartorial sense of being regal, clean cut and stylish. The prim and proper British way to do things is with class and simplicity but the London way to do things is with risk and individuality. Mix them together and you'll get Golden Sophistication.
