When airbrushing just becomes an illusion!

As a stylist, I'm definitely not opposed to the odd cleaning up of an image but I draw the line when the end product ends up looking a galaxy away from the original. Take Lady Gaga on Vogue's September issue, I knew her body on the cover was too shapely to begin with and I've seen Gaga so I knew it was a dream but take a look at the image differences for yourself.

This newest bluff on Vogue's part, honestly doesn't turn me off their publications as what they sell is aspirations and they've been doing this for years, along with other publications. The only thing I question is  what are they actually telling people to aspire to?

Events: At The Jones + Jones A/W Collection '12 Launch

Last night one of my favourite fashion labels, Jones + Jones, launched their Autumn/ Winter '12 collection at the fabulous Jalouse nightclub in Hanover Square.

Yesterday was the highly anticipated launch of the fabulous Jones + Jones' Autumn/Winter '12 collection and of course, it was only appropriate that I wear one of the gorgeous pieces from their new collection.

I was so flattered when the Jones + Jones team sent me their Annie dress to wear. To be honest I was a bit weary of the dress but only because I'm not the biggest fan of personally wearing white but I'm so glad I took the risk as I was the only one with the dress, as it's not even available on their site yet. *doing exclusive dance* But don't worry, it'll soon be available.

Style Tip: Brooch Bling

Don't be afraid to bling it up with Brooches. I've always been a big fan of the brooch and you can never go wrong with a brooch or 5, especially with all that extra space coming up on your Autumn/winter jackets!

Take a look at Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's debut lingerie collection for M&S' Autograph line due to officially launch on Thursday 30th August. Fabulously luscious.

Gisele Bundchen: The Face Of David Yurman

Presenting Gisele Bundchen as The Face Of David Yurman, having replaced Kate Moss who represented the brand for eight years. Gisele brings an alternative yet similar sultry aura to the campaign so it's not a total loss for the jewellery design house. I love that they keep the black & white feel going through the whole brand, there's no better way to pile on the bling, especially whilst posing with a horse (as you do).

Seriously, this image of Veruschka Von Lehndorff speaks volumes (excuse the pun). It is beyond fierce, it is fabulous. Dubbed the Lion Lady, German model Veruschka made her beauty bankable during the1960's. 

Right Now I'm Loving: Pink & Yellow

Pink and Yellow, neon or not, are just two of the colours I'm falling for for fall (lol).

Worn with just blocked black or white ensembles, they work well for brightening the mood and bringing pops of colour to a dull season.They are statement making options but are well worth the risk.

Although the gold cap boots are to die for, the fashion isn't anything I haven't seen before (crop tops, leopard print, high-slit maxi skirts, cut-out panel dresses etc...) but it's Beyonce, so they're still stunning to look at.

My Top 5 Beauty/ Makeup Tutorials

Happy 120th Anniversary Vogue!

Vogue has just released its enormous September issue with Lady Gaga on the cover, which celebrates the magazine's 120 years in the publishing industry. A wild haired Gaga graces the cover, which will be the biggest one ever donning a perfect purple Marc Jacobs creation.

I'm doing some weight lifting in preparation. And lift... and lift...

It's A Fashion Jungle Out There!

Ok, so it's more like a forest but either way nature heavily contributed to this outfit post. Wearing my floral sheer print blouse from H&M and gifted orange floral peep toe pumps, I felt like a blossoming flower.
The weather was so beautiful and the bright sun inspired my bold choice of my red chinos from Topshop. I'm loving the neon add-ons right now so my choice was in the form of this necklace from Primark. My multicoloured earrings are from ASOS.

Vogue: The Cover That Made A Change

Sometimes from mistakes, new ideas are born. 

Take Anna Wintour's famous 1988 Vogue cover (above) which featured the first cover model to wear jeans. Although this wouldn't be the most controversial thing to us today but back then, Vogue covers were typically 'studied and elegant close-ups'. Wintour revealed that she only put Israeli model Michaela Bercu in jeans because she couldn't fit into the matching Christian Lacroix skirt, stating 'The jacket was actually part of a suit, but the skirt didn't fit Michaela; she had been on vacation back home in Israel and had gained a little weight. It didn't matter that the stunning model, now aged 45, did not fit into the skirt. In fact, it only served to reinforce the idea to take couture's haughty grandeur and playfully throw it headlong into real life and see what happened,' Ms Wintour wrote.

As her debut issue as editor of Vogue, I can only salute Ms Wintour on her influence on change and bold decison to go with the flow.

Trends: Low Heel, High Style!

The low heel is making a wardrobe return and far be it just the kitten heel that's being highly favoured. Women alike are opting for the blocked, thin and curved heel 3 inches or less.

It's a great staple piece and wise investment for those 'always on my feet' days and with such a wide range of fabulous styles to choose from, they're no longer seen as the granny heel.

Fashion News: Azealia Banks Leaves Readers Dazed & Confused!

So this cover shot of rapper Azealia Banks for Dazed & Confused magazine shot by Sharif Hamza has caused controversy and it's quite obvious to see why. Smoking a filled condom (I dare not think with what) Azealia poses in black with beautifully coloured hair. 

It's not the worst cover in the world but does make you think why? It's been banned in a few places so defeats the purpose of the press but hey at least she's already blown up and that's all that matter's, right?

Adidas' 'slave' shackle trainers AKA JS Roundhouse Mids. 'Controversial' or 'Just a cuff'?

Personally, slavery has never been stylish so why anyone would want to celebrate it or dedicate fashion to it is beyond me. Adidas could have easily left the chains off these trainers with only the cuffs, as ankle cuffs are the 'in' thing right now especially on heels but the chains take it to a whole new level. I don't know who'll be investing in such a pair but it won't be me.

Nike's No No!

First Kanye, now Nike! When is this gold digging crap going to be laid to rest. I get that Nike made a play on the Olympic gold success of women in sports but the fact that it only focuses on women is what bothers me. They could have gone in any other direction for 'going for gold' slogan's. but I guess they may have purposely wanted to be controversial. It's not as though they don't have a multi-million pound branding and pr team who should have known better. I certainly wouldn't 'sport' such a slogan.

Vs Magazine's Four Faces!

Vs. Magazine has us fashionistas spoilt for choice with their latest issue or issues. They currently have four covers featuring Liv Tyler,Coco Rocha, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried. 

Each covergirl was shot by a different photographer: Tyler was shot by Helena Christensen, Rocha by Ellen von Unwerth, McAdams by Drew Barrymore, and Seyfried by Guy Aroch.

Being that I'm in love with all things Coco Rocha, that'll be my choice for cover, plus, she's by far the fiercest. Who's your covergirl pick?

Right Now I'm Loving: Aaliyah feat. Drake - 'Enough Said'

I'm not all that into the resurrection of music from those passed on mostly because I don't understand how they benefit from the new music if they've gone (but that's a whole other discussion) but I do love this track from Aaliyah featuring Drake called 'Enough Said' and once you hear this song, I think you'll find the title very apt.

Fashion News: Vodafone UK & Mary Katrantzou Collaboration

Great new for Vodafone customers/ fashionista's, Vodafone UK is entering into an exclusive two-season partnership with pioneering designer, Mary Katrantzou, which will offer Vodafone customers access to her innovative catwalk show as well as the chance to meet her backstage at London Fashion Week.. 

Vodafone will work with the British Fashion Awards Emerging Talent Award winner - Katrantzou across spring/summer 2013 and autumn/winter 2013.

OMG, How spectacular are these heels. Nicholas Kirkwood for Erdem has me (almost) speechless with his geometric heel creations. The printed fabrics and glorious colours make for lust list fulfilment. 

The boots are just as magnificent and make a fancy addition for ones wishlist.
